Tau K18, C291S and C322S Mutant
The Tau K18 fragment comprises all four microtubule binding repeats (4R) of Tau with mutations C291S and C322S. The K18 fragment of Tau has a higher propensity of aggregation than the full-length protein1, with this mutant form serving as a non-aggregating control2. Applications for this construct could include aggregation experiments, microtubule binding studies3 and acetyltransferase activity4.
