Anti-CoV-2, MERS & SARS-CoV NP Mouse IgG1 Antibody

SARS-CoV-2 & SARS-CoV belong to the family of Coronaviridae and are characterized by large positive-sense RNA genome, that is about 30 kb in length. One unique feature of SARS-CoV-2 & SARS-CoV is that two-thirds of the viral genome is translated into two large polyproteins whereas the remaining viral genome is transcribed into sub-genomic RNAs. The two large polyproteins encode multiple non-structural proteins that play an important role in viral replication and transcription. SARSCoV-2 & SARS-CoV transcribe multiple sub-genomic RNAs that encode four structural proteins, namely, envelope (E), membrane (M), spike (S), and nucleocapsid (N). Some of the main functions of the nucleocapsid protein are 1) to package the genomic of the virus into long and helical ribonucleoprotein (RNP) complexes, 2) to dimerize and associate with genomic RNA of the virus, as well as interact with other structural proteins of the virus, both of which functions are essential for viral assembly, 3) associate with ER-Golgi complex during virus budding, 4) assist in genomic RNA synthesis, 5) assist RNA chaperone proteins in proper folding of nucleic acids, and 6) play an important role in viral pathogenesis.
