Batch to Batch, Consistency of Physical and Chemical Properties
Due to the fact that our beta-amyloids are recombinantly produced, there is a batch to batch consistency in the physical and chemical properties of our beta-amyloid peptides.
Purity
The purity of our recombinant beta-amyloid peptides is consistently >97%. The salt content is ca. 10% of the total weight. The peptide amount specified is the net peptide content. The peptide quantities are estimated by HPLC against a calibration curve derived from quantities estimated by amino acid analyses.
Oxidation
There is no evidence of oxidation of the 35Met, by mass spec, in both native 1-40 and 1-42. We offer a 1-42 mutant, 35Met-Valine (catalog number, A-1021-2), which can be used for in-vitro and in-vivo control experiments to study the effect of oxidation of methionine.
Chemical Modifications
To avoid any chemical modifications, our recombinant beta-amyloid peptides are made as soluble fusion proteins (rather than inclusion bodies) and are enzymatically (rather than chemically) cleaved. Thus our beta amyloid peptides are as natural as possible.
Uniformly Labeled Peptides
Our 15N, 13C and 15N+13C, labeled beta-amyloid peptides, are uniformly labeled.
Level of Enrichment of the Labeled Peptide
The 15N incorporation in our AB1-40 and AB1-42, is >90%.
Solubility
Beta-amyloid peptides: Resuspend in 1 % NH4OH, at a concentration of 1 mg/ml. Sonicate for 30 seconds after it has gone into solution.
The Beta-Amyloid, NaOH salts (A-1155 and A-1165, http://www.rpeptide.com/products/products_7.html) can be resuspended in water.
Shipping
All peptides are shipped as a lyophilized powder, by FedEx overnight or Fedex International (for international shipments), unless otherwise specified.
Synuclein Proteins
Resuspension: Resuspend in water to get a final concentration of 10 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.4
